Lovely rooms that were both clean and comfortable as well as individual, in keeping with the period feel of the hotel and nice touches such as fresh fruit in the rooms and hot drink selection. The staff we interacted with, particularly the receptionists are a real asset to the hotel, friendly and helpful at all times. The location of the hotel is ideal for getting out into Clifton and the Downs, and for accessing attractions (Aerospace museum, Bristol Zoo Project, Cribs Causeway etc.) in other parts of Bristol without needing to drive through the centre. Lots of lovely eating places within a 5 minute walk. The hotel restaurant did look lovely for those looking for fine dining, but not for us on this visit as we were visiting my 1st year rugby playing Uni student and needed to fill him up.

This lovely independent boutique hotel is full of charm and history. My single room on the second floor was big enough and very comfortable, the ensuite had a great shower and the breakfast was ok. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. It’s an old property, grade II listed, and even though it’s nicely ‘modernised’, it still has features that may inconvenience some people, like no lift or air conditioning. But there are chain hotels for that. This hotel beats them every time in my book. It’s situated very close to the bus stop that takes you to temple mead’s railway station, and it’s very close to all the independent cafes and shops of Clifton that sell excellent produce.

The Rodney Hotel was a beautiful place. All the staff were incredibly attentive (particular praise goes to Justyna, Zenna and Henry). I was very impressed by the fire evacuation notice for those who made need assistance. The hotel does not have a lift, but the staff made sure to ask if you need help with your luggage. Lots of green initiatives too. The staff were able to provide me with a local taxi number too when I asked. The room also had fruit, ground tea, ground coffee, instant coffee, tea and milk, as well as a mini bar.

Amazing hotel, I really enjoyed my stay, great value for the price and perfect for solo traveller. The room was very cosy, clean and had everything I needed. My room was on the upper floor so it as quiet. The staff was always so nice and helpful. There is a bus stop right across the street and the bus will take you to the city centre in a couple of minutes. Also, there are many cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby and the whole area was really lovely and safe. If I go to Bristol again, I will definitely book this hotel.

The room was quiet as the hotel is set off the road slightly and I was on a high floor. My daughter was able to nap on Saturday afternoon with a wedding on downstairs so the old fashioned thick walls did their stuff! The rooms were all comfortable and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Also the staff in the restaurant. This boutique hotel has character and a helpful, no frills feel to it.
